Early settlers in this area included Irish immigrants who had first settled in South Carolina in the 1770s then moved into Alabama to claim grants.  This website tells about ancestors of many of the current residents.  It may explain how we came to be here and how we are kin to each other.

Much of the early research was done by Mrs. Hattie Morrow Phillips in the last half of the 20th century. With online search engines and advanced record keeping it is easier to find and verify information.

The Cork information was verified by my brother John Graham as he visited cemeteries and courthouses, interviewed the elderly, copied family bibles, and corresponded with other researchers around the country.  His years of work is displayed in his published records and is the most authoritative information I hav0262842c-b748-4064-8d2d-0f6e033d19fde found.
